Hi, I'm Chandra,
I am a wife, Mom of four, dog Mom of 2, and a first time new Gigi, fancy name for Grandma!
My first love, is art. I wanted to be an artist when I was a little girl and have always been passionate about art, and color, and anything beautiful. It's a must in life (all the beautiful things). I would literally die if I did not do something related to art in my life!
I had a pull towards photography in High school but lacked the confidence to try it. I focused on art classes and participated in Special Art Design that allowed me to do independent art projects. As an adult I worked in the furniture industry where I was able to use my ability to "see color" and coordinate fabrics. It was there that I worked on in-home design projects, and began mural painting. I have done residential and commercial murals and LOVE large scale projects. I participated in the Wichita Symphony Showhouse in 2001.
Becoming a Mom slowed me down in the design world, but did not stop my passion to create. I started my own business in 2000 called "Missy Me" where I did custom painted home decor, personalized paintings, hand-painted clothing and sewing of baby blankets, burp rags and bibs sold in a local boutique.
In 2014, I picked up a digital camera and was hooked. Practicing on my family and friends, I finally felt ready after 5 years to start doing more. It is so much fun and I love learning new things to just get better and better. I continue to paint as much as possible, but I can't stop making beautiful photos and won't any time soon!
Now that my kids are mostly grown, my youngest is finally out of elementary school, I have returned back to my design roots at a local Design Store. I also have tied in my love of photography and knowledge of the internet by managing the social media and website for them as well. I am overflowing with gratitude. There is still time though, for portraits and photography, and I keep coming back because they make me so happy to do them! Let's capture some memories, shall we?
